Gmail-style branding. The Graure business trail.

Mail AI for Gmail pairs Google’s service name with a familiar M-envelope icon under seller Graure Elena. A separate Zoom EULA links Graure Elena Carmen, GMI Electronice and Graure Mihai; the reporter says nine apps previously listed under Mihai Graure’s Apple developer account became unavailable because Apple terminated that account.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Recognizable Gmail branding. A documented business trail. Unanswered account questions.

Gmail’s name and a familiar M-envelope identity

The app’s name, subtitle and icon trade on Gmail recognition. The publisher is Graure Elena, and the description disclaims Google affiliation. Our assessment is that the combined branding risks misleading shoppers; no legal infringement ruling was established.

The business trail supports investigating an alleged return through a relative’s account

The reporter alleges that Mihai Graure, previously banned for scam activity, managed to create a new Apple developer account in a relative’s name and return to the App Store. Verified records show an overlapping declared street address and a separate Zoom EULA explicitly naming Graure Elena Carmen, GMI Electronice S.R.L. and Graure Mihai. These establish links worth investigating; an Apple ban, its reason and control of the current account remain unconfirmed.

Official records identify GRAURE MIHAI-ION as administrator

ONRC names him as administrator of GMI ELECTRONICE S.R.L., CUI 48833846. ANAF corroborates the company and contact details matching the older Mihai Graure evidence. These records establish management and a business association, not beneficial ownership.

Official ONRC and ANAF records checked 26 October 2026.

Nine earlier apps are unavailable; the reporter attributes this to account termination

The reporter states that the nine apps previously listed under Mihai Graure’s Apple developer account became unavailable because Apple terminated the account. Every supplied older app ID returned HTTP 404 in the US check, while the developer page still resolves without app entries. No Apple termination notice was obtained, so termination and its reason remain unconfirmed independently.

All nine US numeric-ID pages and the earlier developer page checked.

A familiar Gmail envelope, under a different publisher

The app combines Gmail in its name with the US subtitle “Workspace for Gmail” and an envelope icon dominated by an M-shaped flap. The historic Gmail identity also used a red M on a white envelope. Here the M is pink/red with a coloured outline and a blue dot. Those differences are visible: this is a similar brand presentation, not a pixel-identical copy.

The account-switching promotional image goes further: it repeatedly displays the multicolour Gmail M, including in the product heading and account tiles. Combined with the name and envelope icon, this reinforces the Google association. Our assessment is that the overall branding trades on Gmail recognition and risks confusing shoppers about who publishes the app. Official Gmail is published by Google LLC; this app is published by Graure Elena. No customer review establishing actual confusion was available in the checked listing.

The description expressly states that the app is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google LLC. That is material context, but a disclaimer does not itself grant trademark permission or settle whether the overall presentation is misleading. Google’s brand guidance warns against imitating its visual identity and implying endorsement. No licence or court ruling was established.

The comparison above keeps the historical and current Google identities separate. The older reference is a Wikimedia vector rendition of the 2013–2020 Gmail icon. Google’s October 2020 announcement documents the later four-colour identity. The current official Gmail icon is shown separately; none of these images is a before/after record of this app.

The developer’s own EULA names the business connection

A separate Zoom product website at graurecarmen.stream identifies Graure Elena Carmen as the application provider. Its EULA says: “Marketplace business information may identify GMI Electronice S.R.L. and legal representative Graure Mihai where required.” The privacy policy repeats this business context. This is an explicit statement by the website, stronger than a similar surname alone.

The current Gmail seller is listed as Graure Elena, while the Zoom agreement uses the fuller name Graure Elena Carmen. The names overlap, and the supplied current/earlier App Store disclosures share a street name, building number and city. Their postcodes, phone numbers and email addresses differ. This supports a connection worth investigating; it does not independently establish that both provider names identify the same legal person.

The current Gmail website’s terms and EULA name Graure Elena without naming Mihai or GMI Electronice. The company reference belongs to the separate Zoom site and retains the conditional wording “may identify”. It should not be presented as the current Gmail app’s own company declaration.

The reporter identifies Graure Elena as a relative of Mihai Graure and alleges that, after being banned for scam activity, Mihai managed to create a new Apple developer account in that relative’s name and return to the App Store. The shared surname and street address, the separate Zoom EULA’s business link and the unavailable earlier portfolio are the documented basis for investigating that allegation. The public records reviewed do not independently confirm kinship, an Apple account ban, a fraud finding or Mihai’s control of the current Gmail account.

The declared business addresses side by side

The current Graure Elena disclosure and the earlier Mihai Graure evidence give the same street name, number and city in Romania. The earlier record includes a building and entrance that the current disclosure does not specify; the postcodes also differ. The records therefore support a shared street address, but do not establish the same apartment or the nature of a family relationship.

These are the business contact addresses displayed in the supplied App Store evidence. The older Mihai row comes from a supplied screenshot of an indexed Apple result for App for Twitch, not a currently available product page. Building and entrance labels are translated into English; the street name and postcodes are preserved.

Who is behind GMI Electronice S.R.L.?

ONRC is Romania’s National Trade Register Office, the public body that maintains company-registration records. Its records are used here to verify the company’s legal identity, incorporation and registered administrator. ANAF is Romania’s National Agency for Fiscal Administration, the tax authority. Its taxpayer records are used here to corroborate the company’s tax identifier, declared business details and fiscal status. Neither source, as reviewed here, establishes a family relationship.

The official Romanian trade-register dataset identifies GMI ELECTRONICE S.R.L., tax identifier (CUI) 48833846, registration J2023000841385 and EUID ROONRC.J2023000841385. It was incorporated on 22 September 2023 in Râmnicu Vâlcea, Romania. The linked legal-representatives file names GRAURE MIHAI-ION as administrator.

An official ANAF taxpayer lookup on 26 October 2026 corroborates the company and registration. Its business address and phone match the older Mihai Graure App Store evidence. Together with the Zoom EULA’s named legal representative, these records support a substantive business association between that publisher identity and the company. The longer registry name is preserved rather than silently shortened.

The ANAF response lists software-development activity, CAEN 6210. It did not flag the company as fiscally inactive or VAT-registered at the check date. These are registry/tax facts, not an assessment of app quality or misconduct. The legal-representative extract establishes management; it does not identify the shareholder or ultimate beneficial owner.

A second tax number, 52236307, appears online under the same business name. ANAF recognizes that fiscal entry and returns matching contact/address information, but its response does not supply a trade-register number. It was not a separate matching company row in the ONRC extract searched. Its fiscal role remains unresolved; this report does not treat it as another company or merge its financial records with CUI 48833846.

Nine earlier app pages are unavailable

According to the reporter, the nine apps below were previously listed under Mihai Graure’s Apple developer account and became unavailable because Apple terminated that account. The reporter observed their disappearance and attributes it to account termination. No Apple termination notice or official explanation was supplied or found, so this causal explanation is attributed to the reporter rather than presented as an independently verified Apple decision.

All nine numeric-ID US product pages returned HTTP 404 on 26 October 2026. Older named URLs checked for LinkedIn, Twitch, Zoom and Gmail also failed; selected other storefront checks did not restore the older listings. This confirms unavailability in the tested pages at that time, not a worldwide enforcement decision.

The Mihai Graure developer page, account 1896724929, still resolves successfully with his name but no app catalog entries. Earlier Apple metadata retained in search results identifies Mihai Graure for eight of the nine apps. The supplied Instagram screenshot separately shows him as developer. Attribution of the older Desktop App for Gmail remains reporter-supplied.

The earlier portfolio repeatedly used major service names—LinkedIn, Instagram, Google Drive, Gmail, X, TikTok, Twitch, Zoom and Facebook. That pattern is relevant context for the new Gmail branding concern. It does not establish that Apple removed the earlier apps for trademark infringement, that a ban was evaded, or that the current app was renamed after review. No verified before/after branding sequence for the current Gmail app was obtained.

Three websites, and a download link to somebody else

The current Gmail listing links graureelena.pages.dev, a working generic publisher presentation with support, terms and a policy. The separate graurecarmen.stream site presents a Zoom product and carries the explicit company/representative wording above. A hosted subdomain alone does not establish fraud or common ownership.

The older publisher’s indexed TikTok description links gmiapps.com. The live GM IApps site advertises Gmail, Facebook, Drive/Docs and Zoom tools. Its Zoom-specific privacy policy uses exactly the same contact email as the older Mihai Graure evidence. This gives another direct contact match; it is not merely an inference from the initials GMI.

The GM IApps Mail Plus for Gmail page marks the product Available, but its download button leads to rockysandstudio.com/mail-plus.html. That destination expressly identifies Mail+ for Gmail as developed by Rocky Sand Studio Ltd. This is an inconsistent product/download trail on the GM IApps page. It does not establish that Rocky Sand Studio shares ownership with, supplied, or participated in the Graure apps.

Neither that outbound link nor the similar Gmail product names identifies the current Mail AI for Gmail app. Its numeric ID is different from the older Desktop App for Gmail, and no evidence reviewed establishes a transfer between these two app IDs.

The privacy button opens the wrong page

The App Store’s dedicated Privacy Policy button goes to graureelena.pages.dev/privacy/. On the live check, that URL served the generic homepage headed “Simple tools. Clearer experiences.” It did not display the privacy policy. A verified 25 October archive replay shows the same route issue.

A real policy is available at /privacy-policy/, linked in the app description and the site navigation. This is a routing/disclosure problem, not evidence that no policy exists. Readers following the dedicated privacy button should receive the actual policy directly.

The working policy is generic across the developer’s apps and websites and discusses local preferences, diagnostics, subscription status and user-entered content where applicable. The current Gmail description makes more specific on-device processing claims and the App Store label says Data Not Collected. Generic policy wording alone does not prove this app collects data contrary to its label; no app traffic or runtime behaviour was tested.

Free today, with a declared Romanian trader

The checked US, German and Irish listings show a free Mac download, with no in-app-purchase price table. No weekly subscription or annualized subscription charge is attributed to this app. Generic subscription language on a publisher website is not a current price offer for this product.

Germany and Ireland both identify Graure Elena as a trader and disclose a Romanian business location in Râmnicu Vâlcea. This is the provider’s declared business location, not proof of nationality, residence or wrongdoing. The declared business addresses are compared above; phone numbers and email addresses are omitted.

The description advertises a dedicated Gmail interface, native notifications, persistent account sessions and AI Reply using Apple Intelligence. It says the core experience supports macOS 13+, while AI Reply requires a compatible Mac with macOS 26+ and Apple Intelligence ready. These are the seller’s claims; the app was not installed or tested. No credential theft, payment fraud or false AI functionality was established.

The branding warrants review; a fraud finding needs more

Apple’s accurate-metadata rules (2.3) and trademark/metadata provisions (2.3.7) are relevant to the title and Gmail association. The copycat rules (4.1) and intellectual-property rule (5.2.1) are relevant to the similar envelope identity and overall impression of affiliation. Google’s own guidance also warns against imitation and implied endorsement. These provisions explain the branding concern; they are not a ruling that this app infringes a trademark.

Developer Code of Conduct rule 5.6 would be relevant if deceptive conduct or account circumvention were established. The disappearance of earlier products alone does not establish either. The supported findings here are Gmail-style branding, a documented company/representative trail, nine unavailable older product pages and a misdirected privacy link.

Screenshots dated 25–26 October 2026 show an earlier Instagram listing naming Mihai Graure, an indexed Twitch result, the current German trader panel and the Zoom EULA. The reporter observed the older apps/account disappear; no Apple termination decision or reason was supplied. English Instagram and EULA images are reproduced; contact details and non-English panels are summarized. The reporter subsequently states that Elena and Mihai Graure are relatives; the report attributes this statement to the reporter, with independent confirmation unavailable. The reporter also alleges a return by a previously banned scam developer through a new account registered in a relative’s name. This is recorded as the reporter’s allegation, not an independently established Apple decision or account-control finding. The reporter expressly attributes the unavailability of the nine earlier app pages to Apple terminating Mihai Graure’s developer account; no Apple termination notice was supplied.
