AI Chatbot: conflicting prices and a privacy mismatch.

This independent AI writing app advertises $12.99 monthly and $49.99 lifetime, while its US purchase table lists $14.99 and $99.99. Its weekly option has an estimated yearly cost of $311.48, and its Data Not Collected label sits beside a policy describing extensive collection and retention.

VISUAL EVIDENCE

A black looped symbol beside the official ChatGPT reference.

The investigated icon uses overlapping rounded black loops around the letters AI on white. The official ChatGPT reference has an interwoven knot with a different centre and geometry. The black-and-white looped motif invites comparison, but the icons are distinct. The monitor’s similarity percentage is not treated as a validated copying measure.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Lower prices in the description. Broader collection in the policy.

Two different monthly and lifetime prices on the same page

The US description advertises $12.99 monthly and $49.99 lifetime, but the purchase table lists $14.99 monthly and $99.99 lifetime. Weekly and yearly amounts agree at $5.99 and $29.99. The page does not explain the discrepancy. This is a documented misleading price presentation; the actual checkout charge was not tested.

The policy describes collection that the privacy label does not explain

The label says Data Not Collected. The linked policy describes user-content collection, server logs, identifiers, usage analytics and retention. Its generic APP wording spans websites, software and mobile apps, leaving the Mac app’s actual scope unclear. The public disclosures need reconciliation; runtime collection was not tested.

An expensive weekly option beside a much cheaper yearly plan

The US weekly plan has an estimated yearly cost of $311.48, compared with the separately listed $29.99 yearly plan. The description offers three free attempts, followed by an optional trial or purchase. It specifically associates a three-day trial with the monthly offer; a trial for every plan is not established.

GPT promotion does not identify the publisher as OpenAI

The US subtitle reads Built on GPT 5, GPT 5.6, GPT 6. The seller is Mohammad Shaheer, and the description expressly disclaims OpenAI or ChatGPT affiliation while claiming OpenAI API use. This is an independently sold app. Access to the advertised models has not been verified.

WHAT IT COSTS

$5.99 weekly. An estimated $311.48 yearly.

The table below records the visible purchase options, not observed charges. The US description instead advertises $12.99 monthly and $49.99 lifetime. Germany’s translated description also retains US-dollar amounts, while its purchase table uses euros. Prices and labels were checked live in all three storefronts.

The weekly option’s estimated annual cost is about 10.4 times the yearly plan.

At unchanged weekly pricing, the estimated annual cost is $311.48 in the US, compared with the $29.99 yearly option (about 10.39 times as much). In Germany and Ireland, the corresponding estimate is €363.48, compared with €34.99 yearly (about 10.39 times as much).

Annual estimates assume continuous renewal at unchanged prices, without cancellation, discounts or a trial. Actual calendar-year billing can vary. Identical entitlements were not verified. The price gap alone does not establish fraud.

The price discrepancy is visible before checkout.

The strongest finding is within the US listing itself: two sections give different prices for what they describe as monthly and lifetime plans. The lifetime purchase table amount is approximately double the amount advertised in the description. No discount condition, different entitlement or explanation is shown beside those competing amounts.

The description says users receive three free attempts and may then start a three-day trial or buy premium access. Its plan list specifically attaches the trial to the monthly offer. It says renewal continues unless turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the period and directs users to Apple Account Settings. These are the developer’s statements, not a tested paywall or a verified charge.

A generic collection policy behind a no-collection label.

The policy repeatedly uses APP as its product name and covers several platforms. It discusses accounts, PayPal, advertising and syncing content to servers, without clearly identifying which practices apply to this Mac app or how its claimed OpenAI integration handles prompts.

Its mobile subsection permits analytics retention for up to 24 months. This does not prove that the Mac app retains data for that period. It shows why a specific app/version explanation is needed.

Apple’s label rules distinguish local processing and transient requests from retained off-device data, with conditional exceptions for support requests. A generic policy is not proof of actual collection, but it also does not give buyers a clear explanation of the no-collection label.

Germany uses a localized name. Both EU pages say non-trader.

The German listing is named KI Chatbot: Deutsch Chat 5.6 and uses the subtitle Built on GPT 5.6 & GPT 6 Astra. Its numeric app ID is the same 6783956263. This is a regional metadata difference, not evidence of a separate application or a dated rename.

Both Germany and Ireland say Mohammad Shaheer has not identified as a trader for this app. The inspected panels do not provide a business address or country. No nationality or location is inferred from the developer’s name. Apple’s displayed notice is recorded here without independently determining the provider’s legal status.

Germany’s translated description still quotes US-dollar plan amounts, including the lower monthly and lifetime figures. The visible euro purchase table matches Ireland: €6.99 weekly, €17.99 monthly, €34.99 yearly and €99.99 lifetime. Currency localization alone is not wrongdoing; the untranslated price references add confusion to the already documented US mismatch.

The reviewed pages show version 1.8, dated 1 October 2026, an 18+ content rating and a macOS 13.0 minimum. They do not display enough ratings or reviews for an overview.

Humoty remains in the purchase labels and bundle identifier.

The seller and developer account are Mohammad Shaheer, ID 6783956265. The live developer catalog shows this one app. The bundle identifier is com.humoty.writer.app, and all four purchase labels retain Humoty. These are verified internal naming links, but do not by themselves establish when the app was renamed or how its design changed.

No Developer Website link is recorded in the supplied analysis. The listing links a Google Sites privacy page; its description supplies terms and an EULA on the same mohammad-shaheer site. The site’s navigation also provides Customer Support. Hosting on Google Sites identifies the platform; the developer’s actual hosting expenditure is unknown.

The support page embeds a Google Form with name, email and message fields. In this review the embedded form displayed a sign-in requirement. It was inspected without signing in or submitting anything. The policy also supplies a direct support email, which is omitted from this article.

No verified link to the previously investigated sellers.

The public support address and Google Form identifier were compared with the earlier records for Muhammad Azan, Waseem Abbass, Muhammad Husnain, zain saeed ahmad, Anam Shehzadi, Zain Anwar and Talha Faisal. Neither matches the contacts or support forms found in those cases. Exact searches for the support address and bundle identifier did not establish a shared business or operator.

Common features such as Google Sites, Gmail, AI-provider names and paid plans are not distinctive identity links. The support form differs from Talha Faisal’s shared three-site form and from Azan’s form. The inspected evidence supports recurring disclosure concerns, not a demonstrated common owner.

Model names, a familiar visual motif and an independent seller.

The original icon uses rounded overlapping black loops and a central AI label on white. The official ChatGPT reference uses a different interwoven knot. The resemblance deserves scrutiny alongside the GPT-heavy subtitle, but the source does not establish that the icon is identical or that branding permission was granted.

The promotional image headed AI Chatbot advertises GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.6, while the US subtitle names GPT 5, GPT 5.6 and GPT 6. Germany adds GPT 6 Astra. These are different advertised model lists. OpenAI’s current official documentation includes GPT model families and API access; the names are not dismissed as fictitious. Documentation cannot confirm this developer’s actual backend, model selection or authorization.

The listing’s independence disclaimer is relevant and is preserved in this report. Claimed use of a connection to OpenAI’s AI service does not make the app an official ChatGPT product. Our warning concerns the combined presentation and documented disclosure problems, not an assertion that independent API clients cannot exist.

The documented issues Apple should review.

Accurate metadata rules 2.3 and 2.3.1 are directly relevant to the competing monthly and lifetime prices. Rule 3.1.2(c) concerns clear subscription information. Privacy rules 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 warrant checking the generic policy against the app’s actual collection and disclosure.

Copycat and intellectual-property provisions 4.1 and 5.2.1 are relevant to any confusing visual presentation and branding permissions. The current pages do not establish an Apple enforcement decision, a legal infringement ruling or a confirmed fraudulent payment. The supplied text asks Apple to review the case; it is an allegation, not an enforcement result.

The records behind this report.

The full original 14-page analysis is available as a metadata-cleaned PDF. Its privacy appendix intentionally contains only the first three pages of the captured policy; the full live policy was separately read for this article. Document metadata was removed, with page order, searchable text and rendered pixels preserved. Visible source contact information remains, including a support email. The supplied text complaint’s PDF checksum matches the independently calculated original checksum. Individual raw-file hashes printed in the dossier are not independently verified because the associated evidence ZIP was not supplied. The Irish Wayback replay loaded; the supplied policy replay timed out on two attempts. Broader US/DE/IE, site and legacy archive queries timed out or returned a server error. No dated older visual comparison or review-evasion sequence is claimed. Private research captures and contact notes are not packaged.
